Warranty Policy

Last updated: June 27, 2026

This Warranty Policy explains the warranty coverage for variable frequency drives and related products supplied by UL Controls, trading as EcoDriveSmart. The products we sell are covered by the warranty of their manufacturer, and we facilitate warranty claims on your behalf. Coverage and periods differ by manufacturer and product series.

What is covered

Subject to the conditions below, products are warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, installation, and service, in accordance with the manufacturer's published instructions and ratings.

Warranty period

The warranty period is 1 to 3 years and depends on the manufacturer and product series. Invertek Optidrive models are eligible for up to 5 years when registered with the manufacturer. Unless stated otherwise, the period runs from the date of the original invoice. The specific period for your product is determined by the applicable manufacturer warranty.

What is not covered

This warranty does not cover faults or damage caused by:

  • Improper installation, wiring, sizing, or commissioning, or installation by unqualified personnel.
  • Operating conditions outside the product's published ratings, including overvoltage, undervoltage, phase loss, or overload.
  • Environmental exposure beyond the product's rating, including water, dust, corrosion, vibration, or temperature outside specification.
  • Incorrect parameter programming, misuse, abuse, accident, or neglect.
  • Unauthorized repair, modification, or use of non approved parts.
  • Normal wear, consumable items, and cosmetic damage that does not affect function.
  • Events beyond reasonable control, including power surges and natural events.
  • Products where the serial number or rating label has been removed, altered, or made illegible.

Installation and commissioning requirements

Warranty coverage requires that the product was installed, wired, commissioned, and maintained by qualified personnel, in accordance with the manufacturer's manuals and all applicable electrical codes and standards, including any required protective devices and environmental conditions. Failure to meet these requirements may void warranty coverage.

How to make a warranty claim

To start a claim, contact us at drivesales@ecodrivesmart.com with the following:

  • Your order number or proof of purchase.
  • The product model and serial number.
  • A description of the fault, including any fault codes and the conditions when it occurred.
  • Photos or supporting data, where relevant.

If the claim is accepted, we will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and instructions. Please do not return any product without an RMA number, as unauthorized returns may be refused or delayed.

Remedy

Where a valid claim is confirmed, the remedy is repair, replacement, or credit, at our discretion or that of the manufacturer. Repairs and replacements may use refurbished or functionally equivalent parts or units. A repaired or replaced product is covered for the remainder of the original warranty period, unless the manufacturer provides otherwise. Repair or replacement is your sole and exclusive remedy under this warranty.

Manufacturer warranties

The drives we supply are covered by their respective manufacturers, including Invertek, Eura Drive, and LS Electric. The manufacturer's warranty terms govern the coverage, period, and remedy for each product. We act as your point of contact and assist with processing claims through the manufacturer. Where a manufacturer requires the product to be assessed or returned, we will guide you through the process.

Return shipping for warranty claims

Shipping arrangements for warranty claims depend on the manufacturer's process and the nature of the fault. We will confirm the return method and any costs when we issue your RMA. Please pack any returned product safely to prevent further damage in transit.

Out of warranty support

If a product is outside its warranty period or the fault is not covered, we can still help. Contact us to discuss repair options, replacement parts, or a suitable replacement drive.

Limitations

To the fullest extent permitted by law, this warranty is the only warranty we provide, and repair, replacement, or credit is your sole remedy. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including downtime, lost production, or damage to other equipment, arising from a product defect. Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.
